Many benefits can be gained through the Supplementary Contributory Pension or SCP Scheme offered by the Employees Trust Fund, or Tap.  Apart from saving for the future, it will also benefit the beneficiaries of SCP members who pass away before the age of 60.

Awang Shahariman bin Haji Moksin, a TAP Communications Unit Officer explained the matter this morning during the Entrepreneurship Open Day 2017 at Bangar Town Bumiputera Main Complex in Temburong.  Awang Shahariman added it helps businessmen to join the SCP scheme especially those without their own companies.  They can gain the same benefits as those received by Government and private sector employees who are TAP and SCP Scheme members.  They are only required to deposit a minimum of $17.50 into the SCP scheme and the government will automatically deposit a similar amount into their SCP account.

Several other agencies participated at today's event.  The Entrepreneurship Open Day was intended to enhance public awareness on the benefits offered in helping businesses, explain business processes and give small and medium enterprises the opportunity to display and sell their products.
