Meeting Between Ministry Of Communications and Legislative Council Members

The Ministry of Communications highly prioritises efforts to develop connectivity, which not only connects destinations in the country, but also connects Brunei Darussalam with other countries around the world. Speaking while chairing a Discussion session between the Ministry of Communications and Legislative Council members yesterday morning, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, the Minister of Communications also explained the role of the Ministry of Communications in the communications and transport sectors, which are to facilitate the movement of people, services, goods and information, which opens up business opportunities and subsequently contribute towards the growth of the country's economy.

 

The Minister of Communications also highlighted that communications and transport sectors are the backbone to the country's economic development. Therefore, it is important that the role and responsibility of his ministry to be highly appreciated and understood to improve the well-being of people in the country.

 

The delegation was led by Yang Berhormat Dayang Nik Hafimi binti Abdul Haadii. In her speech, Yang Berhormat Dayang Nik Hafimi expressed appreciation to the ministry for its efforts in communications and transport sectors especially at Brunei Port, which according to Yang Berhormat, has shown a downstream effect leading towards the growth of the country's economy.

 

A briefing about the Ministry of Communications was delivered by Doktor Haji Supry bin Haji Awang Ladi, the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications. The briefing shared 3 strategic cores in the Ministry of Communications strategic plan 2018-2022.
