Looks like we all need to move to Japan – they take their train schedule very seriously.
To the point where they issued a formal apology after one of their trains departed a little too early then expected.
Management on the Tsukuba Express line between Tokyo and the city of Tsukuba said they ‘sincerely apologise for the inconvenience’ caused in a statement.
And no they weren’t talking about a train being delayed (sound familiar..?), it actually left 20 seconds too early.
In their statement, the company said the train had been scheduled to leave at 9:44:40 local time but left at 9:44:20.
They said the mistake happened because staff had not checked the timetable.
‘The crew did not sufficiently check the departure time and performed the departure operation,’ the statement said.
To make the whole thing even funnier, no customers had even complained about the early departure from Minami Nagareyama Station.
The train company just thought they’d apologise anyway.
Lovely.
