Seeking knowledge is obligatory to every Muslim ummah. It is an obligation that promises big rewards. A knowledgeable person is highly praised by the community and those who honour knowledge are also fortunate as it is a soul and property that will not vanish and cease. Today's Khutbah Jumaat or Friday Sermon titled "Mensyukuri Kepimpinan Terutama Perkhidmatan Agama Sepanjang 50 Tahun Pemerintahan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam" shared the country's praise on the importance of knowledge. The sermon also focussed on Knowledge Convention held every year in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Birthday which this year was coincided with the Golden Jubliee Celebration of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne.

In the Khutbah or Friday sermon, the prayer leaders said that the Knowledge Convention is among the intellectual and dynamic leadership landmarks of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam as well as the continuous platform in providing valuable and benefit knowledge and information to the citizens and residents in the country. This year's Knowledge Convention has the role in delivering knowledge and understanding on education, mosque takmir, propagation, grass-root leader, fatwa and syariah laws, social and economic specifically in enhancing the quality of religious services.
