Stakeholders on the government side through the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as well as the private sector and associations should consolidate and diversify efforts and ways to continuously promote Brunei Darussalam's literary works abroad. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports said the initiative to increase the involvement of youths in Literature or the Literary arena should be strengthened so that the succeeding generation will become the future successors and movers of the Assembly of Prominent Literary Figures And Experts (PSBNS). Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja (Retired) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof proposed this during official opening of the Assembly of Prominent Literary Figures and Experts 2017 last night. The text of Yang Berhormat's speech was read by Datin Paduka Doctor Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The assembly at RTB's Dewan Raya continued with the launch of a syair or traditional poems titled 'Syair Nilam Jauhari'. The book was written by Ibnu 'Abdir-Raheem or Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Putera Maharaja Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Rahim, Member of the Legislative Council who is the Head of PSBN-S Brunei Advisory Board. Also present were Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Putera Maharaja Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Ghani, Associate Professor Ampuan Doctor Haji Brahim bin Ampuan Haji Tengah, First Head of the Writers Association, ASTERAWANI, as Head of the Brunei Chapter of the PSBNS and Awang Suip bin Haji Abdul Wahab, the Acting Director of the Language and Literature Bureau.
