His Majesty's government through the Agricultural Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism and the Yuan Longping High-Tech Agriculture, the People's Republic of China has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU in the fields of agriculture development field and food security. Such a cooperation is hoped to improve the agriculture industry's contribution towards the country's gross domestic product, GDP by increasing output and agricultural productivity through technology, and improving the skills of officers, staff as well as farmers.

The ceremony was witnessed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism. Pengiran Haji Kamalrudzaman bin Pengiran Haji Ishak, Acting Director of Agriculture and Agrifood, represented the Agriculture and Agrifood Department, while Yuan Longping High-Tech Agriculture Company Limited was represented by Ms. Zhou Dan, the Deputy Director. The MoU entails cooperation in promoting and demonstrating the field of science and agriculture technology including seed production and planting technology, with the aim to improve the country's output.
