Media Conference on Tuberculosis-Monitoring

As a follow-up to the reported Tuberculosis cases among some students of the Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School, the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Ministry of Education will carry out a screening process of Tuberculosis on all of the school students. The screening will be conducted today as a precautionary measure.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Policy at the Ministry of Health disclosed the matter at a press conference on Tuberculosis Control and Prevention. Doctor Hazri bin Haji Kifle said that students who were infected with Tuberculosis are now in a stable condition after undergoing intensive treatment under the supervision of medical experts. He added the Ministry of Health continue to monitor the situation at the Sayyidina Hassan Secondary School with the close support of the World Health Organisation, WHO. This is to ensure the relevant health and medical services are fully enforced. Aside from monitoring the students, people living together with the infected students are also required to undergo regular screening process.
Also present at the press conference was Dayang Nadia Lee Siew Hoon binti Abdullah, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Core Education.
