The delegations of the ASEAN Traditional Textiles Symposium will experience various traditional and cultural activities tomorrow in a two day educational tour at several kampongs in the country. It is in line with the core of the symposium aimed at preserving and promoting the traditional textiles in ASEAN countries.
The second day of the symposium continued today with working paper presentations from a number of countries. Present was Kebawah Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Hajjah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah binti Al-Marhum Almutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj as the head of Malaysian delegation. Professor Michael Howard from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in his working paper explores contemporary male dress styles in Southeast Asia in relation to the adoption of traditional styles of dress and use of traditional textiles in male attire.
