His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam this morning presented land lots and house keys to more than eight hundred recipients under the National Housing Scheme, RPN and the Indigenous Citizens Landless Scheme, STKRJ, in the Brunei Muara District.

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam this morning presented land lots and house keys to more than eight hundred recipients under the National Housing Scheme, RPN and the Indigenous Citizens Landless Scheme, STKRJ, in the Brunei Muara District. The awarding of land lots and house keys to the residents are in line with the vision of His Majesty and the development strategy under Wawasan Brunei 20-35 towards enhancing the quality life of citizens and residents as well as becoming the main development agenda in the country's development plan.
The presentation of land lots and house keys ceremony was held at the Plenary Hall, International Convention Centre in Berakas. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah, the Minister of Development and Awang Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, Brunei Muara District Officer. The ceremony began with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Pengiran Doctor Haji Baharuddin bin Pengiran Abdul Rahman, Brunei Muara District Syari'ah Subordinate Court Judge.
The Brunei Muara District Officer in his welcoming speech said that the presentation of land lots and house keys was an invaluable and meaningful award to the recipients. The award of the land lots and house keys portrays His Majesty's care and attention to his subjects. It is hoped that the occupants of the National Housing Scheme homes will maintain and preserve the harmony of nationhood, establish unity and a neighbourhood spirit, well-being and prosperity in a peaceful environment and mutually respectful as well as adhering to the conditions stipulated by the Housing Development Department, Ministry of Development.
His Majesty presented land lots to 892 recipients. Of the number, 12 recipients received land lots under the RPN Meragang, Lambak Kanan and Rimba as well as under the STKRJ Kampung Mata-Mata, Katok B, Gadong. The award of land lots and house keys under the RPN and STKRJ is the government's two continuous efforts in looking after the welfare and well-being of citizens and residents in the country.
880 recipients received house keys under the RPN Kampung Panchor Mengkubau, Kampung Tanah Jambu and Meragang as well as under the STKRJ Kampung Mata-Mata, Katok B and Kampung Tungku Katok A.
To date, more than 29 thousand houses and land lots have been handed over nationwide through RPN and STKRJ. Of the number, more than 20 thousand 700 houses and land lots were provided in the Brunei Muara District, more than 6 thousand 500 in the Belait District, almost 2 thousand houses and land lots in the Tutong District and about 400 houses in the Temburong District.
Doa selamat was read Pengiran Doctor Haji Baharuddin bin Pengiran Abdul Rahman, Brunei Muara District Syariah Subordinate Court Judge.
His Majesty's presence portrays the monarch's leadership and personality that places serious attention on the interests and needs of citizens as well as residents of the country. It is also a clear indication of how the monarch and His Majesty's government gives serious attention and will continue to prioritise the people's housing through various schemes.
