His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send messages of congratulations to His Excellency Bounnhang Vorachith, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and His Excellency Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, to the Government as well as the people of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on the occasion of its 42nd National Day.

In his message to His Excellency Bounnhang Vorachith, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, His Majesty stated that over the years, Brunei Darussalam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic had enjoyed warm and friendly relations. Furthermore, His Majesty looked forward to working closely with His Excellency to further strengthen the much-valued and important ties between the two countries, especially as Brunei Darussalam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic will be celebrating the 25 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year.

In a similar message to His Excellency Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, His Majesty conveyed that next year will be a fitting time for both countries to reflect on the achievements and explore new areas of cooperation as both countries celebrate the 25th Anniversary of diplomatic relations. His Majesty also looked forward to continuing working with His Excellency to enhance the much-valued ties at the bilateral and regional levels for the mutual benefit of both countries and people.

In ending the messages, His Majesty extended his kindest regards and best wishes to His Excellency Bounnhang Vorachith, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic as well as to His Excellency Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic for their continued good health and happiness and for the prosperity of the Laotian people.
