Dawn Lecture

 December 11th, 2017  |  09:43 AM  |   751 views

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Islam is built upon two pillars of strength which are faith and deeds.  Strong faith is not enough to ensure a person would accomplish the religious objective or goal while action or deed would be useless without true faith. Both make up the key towards gaining the acceptance and blessings of Allah the Almighty as mankind seek the Paradise which everyone longs for.   This was the highlight of the dawn lecture during the ''Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat" programme at the Omar 'Ali Saifuddien in the capital early today.

Attending the event was Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.  The talk delivered by Awang Haji Jamil bin Haji Abdul Ghani, Temburong District Chief Religious Officer, said divine rewards are a secret investment which only Allah knows about.  Hence Muslims need only be pious and practise religion with true faith.  Muslims should perform acts of devotion as much as they could to reap benefits in the Hereafter. Also present were Awang Roslan bin Haji Taja'ah, the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Awang Haji Mohammad Serudin bin Haji Timbang, the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religion) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Meanwhile a similar talk at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Tutong Town highlighted praying in congregation is many times better than praying alone.  The lecture was delivered by Doctor Andas Haji Ismuhadi bin Haji Abdullah, Islamic Da'wah Centre Officer.  In attendance was Awang Haji Jaya bin Haji Yahya, the Acting Tutong District Chief Religious Officer.  The dawn lecture was part of the Tutongku Ceria Festival held in conjunction with the Brunei December Festival 2017.
