Brunei Darussalam will become a strategic halal trading hub for global halal market, which will benefit the ASEAN Economic Community using a BIMP EAGA platform as logistic link. This was included in the Strategic Alliances Agreement signed between The International Halal Trade Hub and Services previously known as The Cottage and Youth Initiative Program, CYiP, Business Program iCentre and Ikatan Pengusaha Muslimah Indonesia, IPEMI, Tri-Star Shipping and Trading, and FSM Logistic Sendiri Berhad Sarawak Malaysia. The signing ceremony was held yesterday morning at the Design and Technology Building, Anggerek Desa.
For the product base, the International Halal Trade Hub and Services Brunei was represented by Pengiran Haji Haris bin Pengiran Haji Duraman, Mentor of CYiP, while signing on behalf of Ikatan Pengusaha Muslimah Indonesia, IPEMI, was Madam Ida Lestari, President of IPEMI Brunei. IPEMI is one of Indonesia new and largest civic organisation and association established to enhance the role and contribution of Muslimah Entrepreneurs in empowering the economy of the society. Meanwhile for the logistic services, signing on behalf of International Halal Trade Hub and Services Brunei was Pengiran Haji Haris bin Pengiran Haji Duraman, Mentor of CYiP and Tri-Star Shipping and Trading was represented by Lim Beng Siong, the Manager Director. FSM Logistic Sendirian Berhad Sarawak Malaysia was represented by Harry Bennett, Managing Director. The logistic services is to provide halal logistic services and establishing an efficient connectivity for BIMP Eaga and ASEAN +3.
On standard, training and services, representing Bru Trade International Sendirian Berhad was its Managing Director, Awang Ramlee bin Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Zainuddin, while APIM International Academy Sendirian Berhad was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Doctor Suraya @ Rohaya binti Ismail. The standard, training and services is to provide vendors with professional training services on business, trade and entrepreneurship. Present were His Excellency Arko Hananto Budiadi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the country and Yang Berhormat Dayang Nik Hafimi binti Abdul Haadii, Member of the Legislative Council.
