Multaqa Arabic Language Education for University Level

The number of Arabic Language students in the country and worldwide in general, has increased from previous years. This can be seen at the Arabic Language Learning Centres and Higher Education Institutes in the country. Speaking at the launching ceremony of Multaqa Arabic Language Education for University Level in Brunei Darussalam, the Deputy Minister of Education believed that such an increase can help to encourage the use of modern technology in Arabic language learning and teaching. It can create suitable environment to motivate the students in their learning, as well as guiding them to master the Arabic language.
According to Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, among the objective of Multaqa is to enhance the quality of participants in education, and teaching various Arabic language subjects. It is also hope to create a new vision for participants in using modern teaching tools specifically in teaching technologies and develop student's activities, inside and outside the university environment. The Deputy Minister of Education said the title "Mengaplikasi Pendekatan Sistem Pendidikan Moden Dan Penggunaan Teknologi Pengajaran: Ke Arah Peningkatan Holistik Dalam Pengajaran Bahasa Arab Bagi Bukan Penuturnya" is appropriate for the current needs, by combing the theory and application towards producing graduates from the Bruneian citizen who possess the ability and expertise to serve the country.
Also present were Awang Haji Mohammad Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary of Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; Doctor Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of UNISSA and Doctor Abang HAJI Hadzmin bin Abang Haji Taha, Acting Raes of Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB. 41 participants take part in the 3-day Multaqa. It is organised by Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University in cooperation with the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation or ISESCO, and Granada Publication and Educational Service.
