Successful implementation of the newly acquired MS ISO 9001:2015 quality management system mainly depends on the Ko-Nelayan (Sabah Fishermen & Fishery Development Corporation) folk, said its deputy general manager Yusof Ag Besar.
The internationally recognized standardization certification from the Department of Standards Malaysia (MS) is aimed at enhancing Ko-Nelayan’s quality products and services for customers in the nation as well as the world.
However, Yusof said this could only be achieved with the same commitment given to adopt the MS 9001:2008 in 2012.
“The management’s move towards the new version is to add value to existing work practice,” said Yusof when launching the Ko-Nelayan MS ISO 9001:2015 at Wisma Pertanian here yesterday.
“It is your responsibility to ensure that all of you understand and implement the work process according to what has been provided.
“You must also realize, no matter how sophisticated any system adopted by an organization is, if its employees do not practise integrity, the organization will not be able to move forward.
“With that, I believe the new version of MS ISO 9001: 2015 together with the integrity of all Ko-Nelayan staff will make Ko-Nelayan a more outstanding government agency,” he added.
