The city police contingent (IPD KK) is well prepared and ready for the coming 14th General Election (14GE) next year.
City police chief ACP M. Chandra said all police officers and personnel from IPD KK had been reminded to be fully prepared for the election, which is expected to be called after the Chinese New Year.
“We have been carrying out numerous exercises in preparation for 14GE, which includes the light strike force unit to control any untoward demonstration,” he said during the monthly police gathering at the Karamunsing police headquarters yesterday.
Meanwhile, Chandra said as of December 19, police had solved about 1,445 crime cases or 97 percent as compared to 818 crime cases or 61 cases of the same period last year.
He said the achievement was a good result due to their aggressive policing and investigating in solving crime related cases and charging suspects in court.
