Once again, Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School (SMSUA) participates in the prestigious Princess Rashidah Young Nature Scientist Award (PRYNSA) competition. My friends and I are surprised, and of course honoured to be selected to represent SMSUA in PRYNSA19.
This year we are putting forward 'The beauty of Snakeheads'. initially, our project title puzzled those who were not familiar with the subject matter.
People were asking 'What are snakeheads?' and 'What is their beauty?'
Locally, snakehead is known as 'Ikan Dalak'. it is a type of freshwater fish and one intriguing fact about `Ikan Dalak' is that it can survive up to three days without water.
Gathering information about snakeheads was not easy since articles, data and case studies on them are limited and not readily available. It was challenging!
However, with the support of everyone around us, we were able to put forward a noteworthy presentation. We received positive and constructive feedback from the judges at the preliminary round.
They also shared tips on how to improve our project which motivates us to do better in the future.
We are still waiting for the result and we are hoping that we get selected and are given the opportunity to showcase our project in the finals.
We hope to bring glory home. Wish us luck!
