20 Senior Officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces were promoted this morning in a ceremony that took place at the Bolkiah Garrison. The promotion are by the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

The function was officiated by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, the Commander of the RBAF. Seven senior officers were promoted to Substantive Colonel/Substantive Captain, a senior officer was promoted to Substantive Lieutenant Colonel and 12 officers were promoted to Acting Lieutenant Colonel/Acting Commander. Also present was Retired First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, Deputy Minister of Defence. The promoted officers are those who achieve the set criteria in the main policy that drives career development in the RBAF.
