Kell Brook is desperate for bigger fights and looked impatient for them as he stopped Kevin Bizier in the second round on Saturday night.

The IBF welterweight champion made easy work of Bizier in a third world title defence in front of his home fans at the Sheffield Arena that paves the way for a clash against one of the division's big stars this summer.

Brook (36-0, 24 KOs) might have missed out on facing fellow Briton Amir Khan at Wembley Stadium this June, but he put himself in contention for a fight against one of his rival world welterweight title-holders, or even Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto, by comfortably dealing with Bizier, his Canadian mandatory challenger. Even world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin was last week linked with Brook.

"I want the big fights now, even weights above, that's what we got to do now, make a big fight because I need the bit between my teeth that is going to drive me on," Brook said in the right afterwards.

Brook has put American Danny Garcia, the WBC champion, top of his wish list and is willing to travel to the States to meet him in July.

"I love the green belt, I would love the Danny Garcia fight, or Tim Bradley, any of them are exciting fights. I'm world champion and let's unify the division and then I will move up."

Whoever Brook fights next it will be a tougher test than what Bizier (25-3, 17 KOs) managed to provide.

Brook has yet to really be tested since winning the IBF title on points from American Shawn Porter in California in August 2014.

Bizier had twice been beaten on points by fellow Canadian Jo Jo Dan, who Brook disposed of in four rounds a year ago, and looked outclassed and in trouble early in the second round.

Brook rocked Bizier with a left to the jaw and he then further dazed the Canadian with a series of hooks. After taking a count, Bizier did not look that interested in carrying on and Brook unleashed a combination that left the Canadian crumpled in a heap.

"I wanted an all out war but he couldn't stand up to it," said Brook. "I landed the big shot and that's all she wrote. He was my mandatory so I had to fight him and no disrespect to Mr Bizier but he wasn't up for it. As soon as I hit him with that big shot that was it."

Hull's 2012 Olympic gold medallist Luke Capbell (13-1, 11 KOs) put his career back on track after suffering a first professional by lifting the Commonwealth lightweight title with a second round win over Gary Sykes (28-5, 6 KOs).

Campbell blames illness on a points loss to Frenchman Yvan Mendy in December but has changed his trainer and made an impressive return to winning ways.

The 28-year-old floored his fellow Yorkshireman Sykes with a left to the forehead and moments later overwhelmed his opponent. Campbell afterwards called for a rematch with Mendy and a shot at the British title.
