His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday attended a luncheon hosted by His Excellency Ram Nath Kovind, the President of the Republic of India, and a Retreat Session with His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of the Republic of India and the ASEAN Heads of State and Government attending the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit. The events were held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.

 His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam first attended a luncheon hosted by His Excellency the President of the Republic of India. Upon arriving at Durbar Hall, His Majesty was greeted by His Excellency Ram Nath Kovind, the President of the Republic of India; His Excellency Shri Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice-President of the Republic of India; and His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of the Republic of India. His Majesty then proceeded to the Banquet Hall to attend the luncheon. After the luncheon, His Majesty together with Their Excellencies the President, the Vice President, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of India as well as other ASEAN Leaders proceeded to Ashoka Hall for a group photo session.

After the group photo session, His Majesty and other leaders proceeded to attend the Retreat Session with His Excellency the Prime Minister of the Republic of India and ASEAN Heads of State and Government. The Retreat Session, which brought forth the topic, "Maritime Cooperation and Security" commenced with a welcoming speech by His Excellency the Prime Minister of the Republic of India. This was followed by opening remarks from His Excellency Lee Hsien Loong, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, as Chairman of ASEAN. During the session, His Majesty and other leaders discussed issues of cooperation as well as exchanged views on regional and international matters. His Majesty then proceeded to Mughal Garden for a group photo session together with His Excellency the Prime Minister of the Republic of India as well as other ASEAN leaders.
