Bournemouth shock Chelsea; Spurs beat Man United; City cruise

ENGLAND

Chelsea piled the pressure on Antonio Conte with a 3-0 capitulation against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Conte's Blues entered the day three points behind second-place United, but second-half goals from Callum Wilson, Junior Stanislas and Nathan Ake ensured they'd remain behind the Old Trafford outfit after an embarrassing home loss.

Wilson opened the scoring on 51 minutes when he raced in behind the Chelsea back line and coolly slotted past a helpless Thibaut Courtois from close range.

Stanislas doubled the lead 13 minutes later -- the former Burnley winger collecting a Wilson through ball and poking underneath Courtois near the six-yard-box.

And Ake capped the scoring three minutes after with a redirect of a shot from close range which left Courtois little chance.

Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester United 2-0 in front of a Premier League record crowd of 81,978 people.

Spurs needed just 11 seconds to take the lead when a long ball straight from the kickoff fell to Christian Eriksen, who coolly slotted home past David De Gea to make it 1-0.

And the early goal was a bellwether for the rest of the first half, with both teams playing entertaining wide open football and fashioning quality chances at either end with only the end product missing.

A pressing Tottenham found their second in the 28th minute when Phil Jones redirected a low Kieran Trippier cross into his own net to give the hosts a two-goal lead at the break.

Jose Mourinho brought on Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini just past the hour mark with Man United struggling to create chances and Spurs continuing to challenge the visitors' defence.

Meanwhile, Manchester City eased past West Brom to increase their lead atop the table to a commanding 15 points after a 3-0 victory at the Etihad.

Kevin De Bruyne asserted his influence early and often in the first half, including a slide-rule pass for Fernandinho to poke through goalkeeper Ben Foster's legs that opened the scoring in the 19th minute.

De Bruyne went close with two efforts of his own as City searched for a second, but was unlucky not to open his account before the break.

However, the Belgium international's perseverance paid off in the second period, and De Bruyne made it 2-0 in the 68th minute when he swept home Raheem Sterling's cross from close range after a fine City counter-attack.

Sergio Aguero then completed the rout one minute from time with a calm finish from an angle after being played into the box.

Everton saw off Leicester City 2-1 as Theo Walcott's first-half brace set the hosts on their way at Goodison Park.

The January arrival from Arsenal had a pair of clinical finishes in the opening 45 minutes, slotting in a Gylfi Sigurdsson cross before smashing home a first-time volley at the back post before the break.

Leicester pulled one back in the 71st minute with a Jamie Vardy penalty after Wayne Rooney fouled Wilfred Ndidi in the area, but the visiting side couldn't find the equaliser as Sam Allardyce's team took all three points.

Elsewhere, Sam Vokes' 85th-minute header earned Burnley a point away against Newcastle.

Sean Dyche's side went a goal down in the 65th minute when Jamaal Lascelles powered Kenedy's cross from a corner past Nick Pope from the centre of the box.

But Burnley wouldn't stay down, and Vokes played the hero five minutes from time -- the Wales international's header ricocheting into the net off Newcastle keeper Karl Darlow to ensure a share of the spoils at St James' Park.

Southampton secured a 1-1 draw against Brighton at St Marys.

Glenn Murray got the visitors in front from the spot on 14 minutes after Wesley Hoedt brought down Solly March in the box.

But Jack Stephens equalised just after the hour mark with a simple finish on the doorstep following a set piece.

Barcelona attacker Gerard Deulofeu made his debut as Watford drew 0-0 away to Stoke City.

Deulofeu joined Watford on loan on Monday and new manager Javi Gracia wasted no time getting the Spain international into his team.

However, the new arrival was unable to help Watford find a result in his debut match as both teams settled for a point.
