Angry Driver Sentenced to 13 Months in Jail, Disqualified from Driving

A twenty-five-year-old local man who committed mischief was sentenced by the Magistrate's Court yesterday to imprisonment for 13 months, two strokes and disqualification from driving for 12 months.
The case is linked to an incident went viral on WhatsApp showing a photo and messages of a car crashing into a workshop counter in Tutong.
The defendat, Zulhilmi bin Mat Jeneh, committed dangerous driving and mischief by driving his car into the display counter of Yeo Motor Workshop in Tutong at 2.55pm on April 7 damaging the counter and 130 pieces of spark plugs owned by the company.
DPP Vuina Song informed the court that the defendant, a former employee at the workshop, had gone to the shop to ask for towing services, but his request was put on hold which made him feel ignored.
He then went into his car and positioned it in front of the shop and drove the car into the shop.
Two sales assistants who were standing behind the display counter sustained injuries.
Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid presided in the case.
