The Department of Councils of States yesterday morning received courtesy call from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Brunei Darussalam. The goodwill visit was the first meeting between both sides.

His Excellency Christian Ramage, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Brunei Darussalam made the Goodwill visit to Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council. Also in attendance were Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Judin bin Haji Asar, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers' Council and Clerk to the Legislative Council and Dayang Rose Aminah binti Haji Ismail, Deputy Clerk of Legislative Council.

Various issues were discussed during the meeting including current issues on bio diversity, defence and illegal poaching. Such visit portrays a strong friendship and relations between both countries.
