Protect Racial Harmony – Tangau

 February 10th, 2018  |  09:34 AM  |   1295 views

TUARAN

The existing strong unity among the multi-racial and religious people in the state and country must be protected at all times, said Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau.

He said this might sound cliche but it was important that the people were kept on their toes.

“We need to be wary of any attempt be it coming from inside or outside to threaten racial harmony, which is the very pillar of our state and country,” he said.

Speaking after making his annual Chinese New Year walkabout here Friday, Tangau who is Tuaran MP was glad to note that the unique harmony and high level of tolerance among the people continue to prevail here.

“I am so happy that we are able to greet each other and celebrate Chinese New Year together with our Chinese friends in really a harmonious manner,” he said.

Together with the Upko acting president at the walkabout were PBS Tamparuli chief cum Community Development Leader Datuk Jahid Jahim and Barisan Nasional component leaders as well as community leaders.
