The water level at 3 flood affected mukims in Tutong district is reported to have receded in several areas. The Minister of Home Affairs who toured the areas hoped agencies and voluntary groups involved would continue to cooperate in addressing the flood problem in the District.
Yang Berhormat Pehin also visited the Incident Control Post Two at the Kampong Tanjong Maya Community Hall which was activated yesterday, before continuing the visit to flood-affected villages including Kampung Tanjong Maya, Kampung Penapar, Kampung Layong and Kampung Ukong as well as the Incident Control Post One at the Lamunin Fire Station. During the visit to the Incident Control Post Two, Yang Berhormat Pehin was accompanied by Yang Berhormat Haji Umarali bin Esung, Yang Berhormat Haji Abd Wahab bin Haji Apong, Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit, members of the Legislative Council.
Kampung Benutan, Jalan Kuala Ungar/ Rambai, Jalan Bangkuru, Jalan Bang Pangan, Jalan Kecil Layong and Jalan Utama Penapar are still reported to be inundated by floodwaters reaching up to 1 metre. Also part of the delegation were Awang Haji Muhammad Sunadi bin Haji Buntar, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Awang Ajman bin Haji Meludin, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Awang Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Hussain, the Tutong District Officer and Retired Colonel Pengiran Haji Maidin bin Pengiran Haji Said, Director of the National Disaster Management Centre as the Acting Director of Fire and Rescue.
