Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah binti His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah this afternoon attended a Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony for Brunei 3 Area Religious School pupils who participated the One Week One Juzu' Programme. The ceremony was held at the Multipurpose Hall, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girl Arab Secondary School in Kampung Katok.

 

Among those taking part in the khatam ceremony was the son of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak 'Abdul Hafeez bin Pengiran Anak Khairul Khalil. The khatam ceremony commenced with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Awang Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

 

84 participants took part in the One Week One Juzu' Programme. They comprised of pre and primary 5 pupils representing 17 Brunei 3 Area Religious Schools.

 

The ceremony was enlivened with Dikir Marhaban presentation. The pupils who participated in the programme began their reading of 30 Juzu' Al-Quran in February until December last year. The ceremony aimed at further enhancing the quality of Al-Quran reading of the religious school pupils and at the same time to inject as well as educate them to always read, love and listen to Al-Quran as their daily practise.
