Information of 'Ministry of Health Conducting Raids on a Number of Cube Stores and Seizing All Items on Sale' Being Spread and Made Viral Is Unfounded and False

Following the spread of information on the Ministry of Health Conducting Raids on A Number of Cube Stores and Seizing All Items on Sale through social media until causing losses to the involved vendors, the ministry stressed that the information being spread and made viral is unfounded and false. The Ministry of health explained that the seizure was aimed to ensure the safety of the public is maintained from unsafe products that do not adhere to safety standards in the country. According to the ministry, products such as medicine, traditional medicine, health supplements and cosmetic products marketed in the country need to first obtain approval from the Ministry of health. Meanwhile, the fee will only be imposed according to the type of product after approval for market.
The Ministry of Health then explained that:
1. Only products that are banned from sale were taken by enforcement officers including medicinal products requiring doctors' prescriptions and sale licence, health products contaminated with scheduled poisonous material and cosmetic products containing adulterants. Among the products seized were Dollys Pinky Night Cream; Vimax Capsule; Clobetamil G Cream and Zuquenuoyuntong Quecemi Pian. CUBE vendors involved were also issued with a Seizure Notice.
2. During examination, a number of health and cosmetic products were taken for laboratory analysis to detect the presence of contaminants including active pharmaceutical materials that undeclared and banned materials according to usage category priority.
3. After the examination is conducted, enforcement officers will usually provide further information on the actions to be taken against the CUBE vendors, while the premises will be given advice and suggestions to ensure the offence is not repeated in the future.
4. The Ministry of Health also reminds that all seized items will be destroyed within one month from the issue date of the notice.
