BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

To further enliven the National Day celebration atmosphere, the Flag Hoisting Ceremonies continue to be held by various parties in the country. The Kampung Mulaut Consultative Council in Mukim Sengkurong held such a ceremony yesterday morning at Mulaut Primary School.

Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti as the Patron of the Pengiran Muda 'Abdul Mateen Mosque Takmir Committee, and the Advisor of Kampung Mulaut Consultative Council. The national flag was handed over to the State Mufti to be hoisted by the Royal Brunei Police Force. Also present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Putera Maharaja Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Rahim, Legislative Council member; Awang Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; and Awang Misle bin Haji Abd Karim, Brunei Muara District Officer.

Meanwhile, the 4 point 7 kilometre cycling expedition carrying small flags was flagged off by Awang Haji Mohammad Jait bin Haji Hitam, Kampung Mulaut Village Chief. Such ceremonies are hoped to instil patriotism and nationalism among the citizens and residents in the country.
