BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

His Royal Highness Deputy Inspector General of Police Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, this afternoon attended a Tea Reception held in conjunction with the 44th birthday of His Royal Highness. The reception was hosted by the Royal Brunei Police Force.

Upon arrival at the Police Officers Mess of the Royal Brunei Police Force in Gadong, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was greeted by Datin Dayang Hajah Elinda binti C.A Mohamed, the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam, the Commissioner of Police, (Retired) Lieutenant Colonel Pengiran Haji Muhamad Sazali bin Pengiran Haji Yakob, the Permanent Secretary of Security and Enforcement at the Prime Minister's Office and Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Irwan bin Haji Hambali, the Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Shortly after arrival, His Royal Highness signed the "Lembaran Kenangan Keberangkatan" and attended a photo session. Also in attendance was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah.

Also present were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna binti Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Ambassador At-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, who is also the Commandant of Women Police and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz.

The highlight of the function, His Royal Highness consented to cut the ceremonial birthday cake followed by a birthday singing performance by the choir of the Royal Brunei Police Force Officers. The design of the cake shows 4 stars representing the rank hold by His Royal Highness as the Deputy Inspector General of Police. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince then received a pasambah presented by the Commissioner of Police.

The ceremony is held annually since His Royal Highness was bestowed the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police on 5th of May 2005 by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

Prior to departure, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince received junjung ziarah from the officers and personnel of the Royal Brunei Police Force.

As the Deputy Inspector General of Police, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince follows the development of the Royal Brunei Police Force by organising several official visits to the Royal Brunei Police Force.  These include visits to police stations in the country. The Royal Brunei Police Force is one of the oldest security organisations in the country and this year is its 97th year of establishment.
