In an effort towards creating a sense of belonging to the Asean Community among the younger generation of the nation, the Information Department has once again conducted the 'Kenali Asean' roadshow yesterday, at the Rimba I Secondary School in Kampong Rimba.
The roadshow, organised by the department through its International Affairs Unit as the secretariat for the Asean-COCI sub-committee, was attended by more than 500 students of Year 7 to Year 9 of the school.
The guest of honour at the roadshow was the school's Deputy Principal (Administration), Dayang Norjalina binti Haji Jaafar.
The event yesterday began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah prior to the mass singing of the national anthem and Asean song.
It then continued with a briefing on Asean, its history, background, motto as well as the functions of its establishment by the Assistant Information Officer at the Information Department, Dayang Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris.

Quizzes were later given to 10 students who volunteered to answer questions relating to topics on Asean and had the opportunity to win prizes provided by the Information Department.
