His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam this morning presented house keys to 6 hundred and 1 recipients under the Bukit Beruang National Housing Scheme, in the Tutong District and Lumut and Lorong Tengah Seria National Housing Scheme in Belait District. The awarding of the house keys portrays His Majesty's care and attention to the country's citizens and residents and proves the government's commitment in upholding the monarch's desires specifically in providing sustainable housing in line with His Majesty's vision and Wawasan Brunei 2035 towards enhancing the life quality of the people. The presentation of house keys ceremony took place at the Tutong Sixth Form Centre Hall.

His Majesty's presence at every house keys presentation portrays His Majesty's and the government's care and attention to continue prioritise the housing provision through various National Housing Scheme.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development, and Awang Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam, Acting Tutong District Officer. 

The ceremony began with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Pengiran Haji Shahril Azman bin Pengiran Haji Metusin, Tutong District Syari'ah Subordinate Court Judge.

The Acting Tutong District Officer in his welcoming speech said from His Majesty's just leadership, the country's citizens and residents, in particular those who do not possess their own land can together enjoy the welfare, security and well-being through the national housing scheme that continues to progress in line with the current developments.

His Majesty presented house keys to the recipients. 301 recipients received cluster type houses and 53 received terrace house keys under the Bukit Beruang National Housing Scheme in Tutong District. Meanwhile 247 recipients were awarded terrace houses at the Lumut and Lorong Tengah Seria National Housing Scheme in Belait District. Since the establishment of the National Housing Scheme, to-date more than 28 thousand houses were built under the National Housing Scheme and Indigenous Citizens Landless Scheme nationwide. 27 thousand 45 of them have been awarded to qualified applicants. From the number, some 2 thousand applicants were those under the National Housing Scheme in Tutong District and more than 6 thousand 3 hundred applicants from the Belait District. 

His Majesty's government through the Ministry of Development is currently conducting an overall assessment on the national housing scheme including assessing the housing design and construction quality for future houses.

To bless the ceremony, doa selamat was read by Tutong District Syari'ah Subordinate Court Judge.

His Majesty's presence portrays the monarch's leadership and personality that places serious attention on the interests and needs of citizens as well as residents of the country. It is also a clear indication of how the monarch and His Majesty's government gives serious attention and will continue to prioritise the people's housing through various schemes.

Meanwhile, the new house owners under the Bukit Beruang National Housing Scheme, in the Tutong District and Lumut and Lorong Tengah Seria National Housing Scheme, unanimously expressed their gratitude and appreciation toward His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam after receiving house key and land lot title.
