Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony In Conjunction With The 34th National Day

Late yesterday afternoon, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam joined his subjects in performing the Mass Fardhu Maghrib and Isyak Prayers, and the reading of Surah Yasiin and Doa Kesyukuran in conjunction with the country's 34th National Day celebration. The ceremony took place at the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the Capital.

 

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, the Yang Di-Pertua of Adat Istiadat Negara; Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs; Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, as the Chairman of the Celebration's Executive Committee; Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, State Mufti, and Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.

 

Also present were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel, and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

 

The mass Fardhu Maghrib Prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal. Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Awang Besar led the Mass Sunat Hajat prayer. The reading of Surah Yaasin was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Awang Besar.

 

Meanwhile, the Doa Kesyukuran was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doktor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

 

The mass Fardhu Isyak Prayer was led by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin.

 

Before leaving the ceremony, His Majesty and other members of the Royal Family received junjung ziarah from the congregants. Such a ceremony is to give thanks for the blessings, security and peace enjoyed by the country as well as for the well-being of the people of Brunei Darussalam. The 34th National Day celebration will be held on Saturday at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien with a theme of 'Menjayakan Wawasan Negara'.
