A luxury car exploded just within a few minutes after it was parked in front of a hotel entrance in Berakas yesterday morning.

According to Fire and Rescue Department, following an emergency call made by the hotel, two fire engines from the Berakas Fire Station and one from the Women's Operation were dispatched to the incident.

By the time the rescue team arrived, the interior of the car was completely destroyed by tire.

The personnel successfully extinguished the fire within three minutes.

The source of the fire is believed to be faulty wiring in the car's air-conditioning and the cost of damages is currently under investigation.

Meanwhile, witnesses at the scene said when the car arrived at the entrance parking spot it was giving out smoke and minutes later the vehicle exploded several times.

No casualties were reported in the incident.
