BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

A total of 243 road accident cases, including a fatal accident, were reported to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF)'s Department of Traffic Control and Investigation (JSKLL) in April 2016.

Action has been taken against drivers found to have committed a number of traffic offences during enforcement operations and traffic enforcement patrols.

In April 2016, JSKLL conducted a total of 47 operations nationwide which recorded 750 cases, of which 507 cases were from 31 operations done by JSKLL, Gadong, while 246 cases were registered in 16 operations carried out by JSKLL, Batu 3 Branch, Belait.

The most common traffic offences found during the operations were expired road tax, road tax not placed on the left side of the car windshield, illegal parking, absence of licence plate, licence plate type and size not complying with the regulations and obscured licence plates.

The RBPF stressed the importance for road-users to always abide by the traffic rules as well as to be alert when using the roads, especially during bad weather, in order to avoid accidents.
