Three Indonesian men succeeded in their application to have their jail time reduced in the Appellate Court yesterday.
The appellants, Ikas Sunaryo and Syamsul Ariffin, who were among seven armed men that robbed homes in 2013, had been sentenced to 11 years and eight months' jail with 12 strokes of the cane.
Another appellant Sofian was sentenced to 14 years and eight months' jail with 12 strokes of the cane.
Justices Mortimer, Burrell and Seagroatt revised their jail time to nine years. The whipping order, however, will stay.
The Appellate Court yesterday considered the appellants' case, seeing that a local co-defendant who played a more active role in showing them the crime scene, had his jail time revised to nine years in an earlier appeal.
