KG LAMBAK KANAN, BRUNEI-MUARA

The Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) held its Dudun Bahasa' programme at Dato Marsal Primary School in Kampong Lambak Kanan to promote the correct use of Malay language.

The audience who comprised students from preschool up to Year 6 participated in activities such as Cambah Kata (word forming), colouring, Sahiba Jawi (Jawi scrabble), dialect quiz and sentence building.

Hajah Sariani binti Haji Ishak, Head of the Language Development and Growth Section at DBP, said that apart from enlivening the upcoming `Language Month' which is held every July, the Dudun Bahasa activity is held at primary schools nationwide to instil love for Malay language.

She said many students widely use slangs and abbreviations due to the advent of new technology, so the DBP's role is to educate them on the correct use of the Malay language.

The Dudun Bahasa programme will be held at the Kiarong Primary School this Saturday.
