Survey Dept' Emerged Champion of Futsal Tourney

Survey Department retained the Ministry of Development and its departments under it Futsal Championship title after narrowly defeating the Department of Administration and Finance (DAF) 2-1 in a tightly contested final at the Public Works Department Sports Complex last night.

 

The individual accolade for Best Player went to DAF goalkeeper, Awang Haji Md Bahkri bin Haji Said.

 

The guest of honour at the event was the Permanent Secretary (Administration & Finance) at the Ministry of Development, Awang Haji Muhammad Lutfi bin Abdullah.

 

The Department of Building Services (DBS) won third place by walkover.

 

Before the final commenced, the guest-of-honour was introduced to the teams who succeeded in entering last night's final.

 

Organised by the Housing Development Department, the objective of hosting the tournament included fostering closer ties among officers and staff at the Ministry of Development and its departments under it aside from promoting physical and mental excellence through sport.

 

The guest of honour also presented prizes to the winners and certificates of appreciation to the match referees.

 

Also present at the event were Awang Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Development, heads of departments, senior officers as well as officers and staff from the ministry and its departments.
