BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
A Singaporean National, Loon Seong Yuen, has been brought before the Magistrate's Court Bandar Seri Begawan for one corruption offence under Section 6(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (Chapter 131).
Investigation conducted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau revealed that Loon Seong Yuen on 12th April 2019 in the vicinity of the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Jalan Menteri Besar corruptly offered gratification of two hundred, fifty Dollars to a police personnel as an inducement or reward not to take legal action against him for committing an offence under the Road Traffic Act. No plea was taken from defendant and the Magistrate ordered for the defendant to be released on bail of ten thousand dollars or two local sureties, and his passport to be impounded.
