A Chinese woman has been detained following a raid by the Royal Brunei Police Force at a hotel in Kampung Jerudong. During the raid, 33-year old, Furong was apprehended for involvement in immoral activity.

Furong is in the country for 11 days on a visit pass. The case is investigated under Section 294A, Criminal Penal Code Chapter 22.  The offender is liable to a fine of between 500 and 5-thousand dollars and one year imprisonment. For the second and subsequent convictions, the fine is not less than 1000 dollars and not more than 10,000 dollars and imprisonment extended to 3 years. The suspect was detained and brought to the Police headquarters for further investigation.
