Islam does not encourage its ummah or followers to be too attached to worldly matters such as prohibited desires, wealth and children to the extent of neglecting their obligations to Allah the Almighty.  There are five ways to reap Allah's blessings and rewards in this world.  Among them is the wealth Allah gives should be used for charity or contributed as endowments in the name of Allah the Almighty and not used in committing misdeeds, sins and other forms of vice. The matter was highlighted in the Khutbah or Friday sermon this afternoon. 

In the sermon, the Imam or prayer leaders said one who has committed misdeeds or sins should repent immediately.  Do not wait for death to come before repenting because by then regrets would be useless.  The prayer leaders added while we still enjoy good health and have the time, use them to gain Allah's blessings.  Use life in this world as a bridge to Paradise in the Hereafter and never be deceived by Satan or the Devil or succumb to illicit desires.
