Temburong As An Attractive Tourist Destination

The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism is increasing its efforts to promote Temburong as an attractive tourist destination. This include the relaunching of the Temburong Holiday Destination package. The Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism explained the matter in response to a query raised by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu on the Ministry's efforts to attract more tourists to the country, especially at Temburong District.
Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism said the package will offer more exciting choices such as the 2 Days 1 Night package, and the Day Trip and Night Jungle Trekking Package. The second initiative is to develop the Bangar Walking Trail. This project aims to highlight attractive and historical sites around Bangar Town, by providing maps and sign boards that contain information for the tourist's convenience. Apart from that, in order to improve the infrastructures in Temburong District, the Tourism Development Department has offered several public-private partnership projects through the Request for Proposal, RFP, and pioneer projects such as: RFP for investment, construction, management and maintenance of Eco-Chalet resorts at Batang Duri; and RFP for investment, construction, management and maintenance of Reserve Centre in Batang Duri. The offers were opened on the 11th of December last year, and closed on the February 6 this year. The projects are expected to commence on April 2018, and it is hoped that the projects will provide a selection of accommodations in Temburong District, upgrade the existing jetty heading towards the Ulu Temburong National Park, and increase the number of tourists visiting the said district in general. Other pioneer project include the ones in Kampung Pedayan, where the construction of resort that contain 30 units of luxurious camps, restaurants, fine dining, swimming pools and other facilities will be implemented.
