Berakas Flyover Incident

Following a picture that was circulated via Whatsapp application on an incident regarding a trailer that transports several new vehicles, got stuck while passing under the Berakas Flyover on 14 March ago, about 10 in the evening, the Land Transport Department has issued a compound to the driver and imposed demerit points (SiKAP).

 

The incident happened after the trailer transported a load exceeding the flyover height limit causing the half road blocked and can caused danger to other road users. Trailer with the registered license BM 6972 and BM 5972 are owned by Syarikat Pengangkutan Brunei (BTC). The new vehicles transported were ordered to unload and the company's manager as well as driver involved were ordered to present themselves to JPD to provide statement.

 

The driver was also instructed to re-sit a driving test and if failed, the driver's license will be annulled. The Motor Transport Licensing Authority, MTLA Board has issued written warning to the said Company to always obey the road regulations. The JPD once again stressed that every Entrepreneurs or Transportation Company Owner to adhere the Road Traffic Act and Regulations for the safety and well-being of the public in the country.
