BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
A Malaysian woman was brought before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate Court for an offence under Paragraph 6 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act Chapter 17.
30 year old, Noorazian Mazwan Binti Abdul Wahab, was sentenced to 3 months imprisonment and fined $800.00 in replacement of caning after being found guilty of entering the country without a valid Immigration pass. The defendant will be sentenced to one month imprisonment in default of the fine.
Noorazian Mazwan was also sentenced to one year and 7 months imprisonment after being found guilty of re-entering the country without written permission from the Immigration Controller after she was repatriated legally. She was arrested by officers from the Law Enforcement Section of the Immigration and National Registration Department during an operation called: "Operasi Cantas" last Saturday at a house in Kampung Sungai Bunga, Tanjung Kidana, Bandar Seri Begawan.
