The Sultan Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA through the Mazhab Syafi'i Research Centre and the Leadership and Lifelong Learning Centre, with the cooperation of Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque conducted a workshop on the application of Mazhab Syafi'i, focusing on practical fiqh namely Tayammum.

45 participants took part in the workshop, which was the initiative of UNISSA in playing a more active role to serve the society, especially in matters related to Islam. The workshop is hoped to provide the opportunity for Muslims in the country to learn and increase their knowledge on fiqh and Mazhab Syafi'i. The tayammum workshop was delivered by Doctor Nurol Huda binti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Seri Utama Doktor Haji Awang Ismail, Fellow Researcher of the Mazhab Syafi'i Research Centre, UNISSA as the facilitator.
