Students to Attend ICT Training at Huawei HQ in China

Following the success of the first 'Seeds for the Future' programme last year, Huawei, as part of its continuous efforts in nurturing ICT and telecom experts for the telecommunication industry in Brunei Darussalam, has sponsored six students from the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) to go on a two-week trip to China.

 

The students from UBD are Chua Kah Kheng, Dayangku Nur Syazwina binti Pengiran Haji Yasmin and Lim Pei Nee currently taking Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science.

 

While the students from UTB are Awangku Mohd Zulfakhri bin Pengiran Awang and Awang Naasiruddeen bin Abdul Wahab studying Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Communication Engineering as well as Awangku Yura Muhammad Iqbal bin Pengiran Haji Yura Mohd Abai doing Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Network and Security.

 

On hand to send off the students to China yesterday at the Brunei International Airport were Fu Feng Shan, Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Brunei Darussalam with Fang Jia Wen, the Chief of Economic and Commercial Office at the embassy.

 

Also present were Guan Zhongwei, Chief Representative of Huawei Technologies (B) Sdn Bhd; Associate Professor Dr.Namal Arosha Senanayake, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Science of UBD; and Dr. Au Thein Wan, Dean, School of Computing and Informatics of UTB.
