By now, you should be well aware that firefighters don’t only fight fires.
Who could forget the Tinder date which ended in a 999 call-out when a woman dropped her poo out the window, then got stuck trying to climb out after it?
Judging from these photos, toilet disasters are a fairly common theme for the emergency services.
Firefighters have now come to the rescue after a little boy got a toilet training seat stuck around his neck.
Leyton Bedford-Rankin, 3, thought it would be entertaining to try it on as a necklace, and it seemed like a good idea at first.
Full-time mum Bryony-Marie, 22, was breastfeeding her eight-week-old baby when Leyton came in saying ‘Look at me, mum’.
They both laughed, but then realised there was no way it was coming back off even when it was greased with butter.
Bryony-Marie, from Mullion in Cornwall, said: ‘I tried for five minutes to get it off,’ she said, ‘and I could only get it past his ears and no further.
‘I tried putting butter on the seat to try and get it off but it wasn’t working.
‘I then had him upside down on the sofa to see if gravity would help.’
She then phoned her dad, who is a firefighter in Newquay, to see if he had any advice.
‘He said best thing is to ring the fire brigade as they will have the tools to help,’ she said.
‘When they turned up, Leyton said ‘I need help, I can’t go to the toilet as my seat is around my head’.
‘I can’t thank Mullion fire team enough for coming to the rescue and putting Leyton at ease as he has Aspergers like myself and gets uneasy around new people.
‘They had him free within 10 minutes.
‘He is completely fine and found the whole thing hilarious.
‘He can’t stop talking about it and said he definitely will not be doing that again. He has hung the seat on his bedroom door as a souvenir.’
The firefighters told Leyton they hoped he would have ‘less of a pooey day’.
