A thirty-two-year-old local man was yesterday imposed a BND$2,400 fine, or up to four months' imprisonment in default, for two counts of consuming Methylamphetamine and possessing utensil for administering drugs.
The defendant, Abdul Haziz bin Suhaili, is charged and punishable under the Misuse of Drugs Act, Section 6(b), Chapter 27, and under Section 29.

Upon receiving information, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials conducted a raid at Rumah Jerambak Security Post, Jalan Jerambak in Gadong, where the defendant was spotted disposing off items.
Several officers, led by a senior narcotics officer, detained the defendant and another male.
Further investigations led to the discovery of a red rectangular metal box labelled 'Hudson's' and one clear glass round bottom tube (taped near its opening with brown adhesive tape), one clear runner cap, inserted with one yellow plastic straw, which was discovered inside the box.
Following the defendant's detainment, a urine sample was carried out and sent to the Department of Scientific Services (DSS) for analysis, which tested positive for Methylamphetamine.
On June 17, 2010 at about 3pm, the defendant admitted to consuming syabu on the morning of his arrest and disposing the drug equipment.
The defendant had no previous convictions.
