BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
Twelve students from the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) yesterday left for Riau, Indonesia, for a study visit under its 'Program Intelektual Mahabbah Wa Rahmah' that will run until May 22.
Bidding the delegates farewell was the Assistant Ra'es of KUPU SB, Dr. Abang Haji Hadzmin bin Abang Haji Taha.
The head of the delegation and Director of KUPU SB Language Centre, Dr. Haji Hambali bin Haji Jaili, said that the students will take part in various community services scheduled for the programme.
He also hoped that the programme will allow the participating students to be able to interact with the local community and gain some beneficial experience.
The team will visit places of interest, including the Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim (UIN-SUSKA) and attend a dialogue session, as well as the Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim Madani in Pekanbaru Riau, Indonesia.
The programme is part ofthe KUPU SB Language Centre's efforts to enhance students' knowledge by involving them in community service, which is in line with the college's mission and vision towards generating competent religious teachers.
The study visit also aims to introduce KUPU SB to the regional and international level as the region's only Islamic higher educational institution that is teaching-oriented.
At the same time, it is also intended to encourage students to think creatively in applying the theoretical knowledge that they have learnt.
