SOASC Students Attended Nationalistic Briefing Held by Information Dept'

BRUNEI-MUARA

 

Year 8 students from Sultan Omar 'Ali Saifuddien College (SOASC) yesterday attended a briefing on nationalism entitled 'Appreciating the national flag and national anthem' organised by the Information Department through its Nationhood Unit of the Nationhood and Community Division.

 

The briefing was part of the department's ongoing project to raise the spirit of nationalism among students.

 

In her briefing, Dayang Hajah Rosidah binti Haji Ismail, Information Officer, touched on the procedure for hoisting the national flag as well as the history and meaning of the national anthem 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan'.

 

Students also watched a video presentation on the national flag that was followed by a nationalism quiz.

 

The briefing ended with the presentation of prizes to students who correctly answered the quiz and a souvenir to the Principal of SOASC Awang Zamain bin Abdul.

 

The, briefing aimed to increase the students' understanding and appreciation of the national flag and national anthem.

 

It is hoped that the students will develop a sense of solidarity, patriotism and nationalism as well as love towards the nation, monarch and religion.
