Barcelona and Liverpool will face each other at Wembley in the International Champions Cup this August, both clubs have announced.

The two clubs, who have won 10 European Cups between them in their history, will meet at England's national stadium on Saturday, Aug. 6.

The match, which will kick off at 5 p.m. BST, will take place the day before the Community Shield match between Premier League champions Leicester City and FA Cup holders Manchester United on the same ground.

Barcelona won the 1992 European Cup and 2011 Champions League at Wembley, and the club's technical secretary Robert Fernandez described the match as "a very attractive one for the fans."

He added on the club's official website: "We are playing against one of the historic teams in European football and Wembley is a very special stage for Barca supporters.

"It will be a demanding game as part of our preparations for next season against a side that, since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp, has recovered the ambition, dynamism and intensity that has always characterised the way they play."

Liverpool ambassador Gary McAllister, who won the UEFA Cup, FA Cup and League Cup with the Reds in 2001, added: "What an incredible game to round off such a high-profile tournament -- and all set under the iconic Wembley arch.

"I'm sure this game will be a great spectacle for Reds fans and football fans in general. I can't wait."
