The US Embassy in Brunei Darussalam is currently accepting applications from youths aged 18 to 35 years to attend the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Generation: Youth United Against Drugs workshop set to take place in Yangon, Myanmar.
According to a press statement from the US embassy, the five-day regional workshop for 30 leading youth leaders from Southeast Asian countries will be held from August 3-7.
Through interactive lectures, hands-on workshops, networking and exposure activities, the selected YSEALI delegates will explore three key issues related to studying the effects of drug use on individuals, their communities, and countries; understanding the context in which drug production occurs; and learning about holistic efforts to reduce drug use, including public awareness and advocacy campaigns.
The workshop offers opportunities for young leaders to develop ideas on how to reduce the demand for drugs and collaborate with peers from neighbouring countries to jointly carry out projects.
Applications are open until June 3.
Launched in 2013, YSEALI is US President Barack Obama's signature programme to strengthen leadership development and networking in Asean.
